Getting hard-to-find articles

The Distributed eLibrary provides interlibrary loan and document delivery services that respond to direct patient care requests, up to 10 requests per year.

You can create requests by logging on to our ILLiad system.

Ordering an Online Article

Here are the steps to order an online article that is not available through our collection.

Submitting an ILL for an Online Article

We are looking for articles on cardiovascular risk factor for middle-aged women in a one of our databases: PubMed.

  1. First, let's go to PubMed database through SEARCH: click on DATABASE TITLES from the top menu bar and type PubMed.

  1. The first result takes us to PubMed, click on View OnlineIf you are not already signed in, you might be prompted to log in using your WCM-Q email and password.

  1. Then, click on PubMed link under View Online.

  1. The PubMed homepage will open, type our keywords cardiovascular risk factor for middle-aged women in the search box and click on Search.

  1. Let’s choose the first article Maintenance of cardiovascular risk factor changes among middle-aged women in a lifestyle intervention trial. A new page opens with the information about the article but no full text is available. However, notice on the right side of the screen the Get it@ WCM-Q orange button.

  1. Once we click on the Get it@ WCM-Q orange button, we will be redirected to SEARCH, click on Request from Interlibrary Loan.

  1. This will take us to the Interlibary Loan (ILLiad) log in screen to enter our WCM-Q username (CWID) and password.

  1. Once we log in, all the information related to the article we are requesting has been automatically populated. Check the details, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on Submit Request.

  1. Once the request is submitted it will take between 3 to 5 business days to receive the article and users will receive an email notification that the article is available for download.
